We have been set a challenge for International Day. Everyone in our music class is to perform on stage as part of the International Day's celebrations. This event will take place in school time on Tuesday 16th, February 2016, so i know i will need to be ready to perform by the week prior to this.

Coming Home signifies that the world as we know it is gone.
Everything that we ever had was gone.

Looking over my pros and cons of the three ideas I had
chosen, I decided to go for the 1st one due to the following
reasons:
·
Only requires one person to sing while the other
can do the instrument.
·
Easy to learn the lyrics and play it.
·
It is more enjoyable to play this song because
it describes how wonderful the world really is and how much it is valued.
Preparation for International Day:
Before I begin playing the song, I
must first learn how to play the piano. We had three weeks to prepare for the
occasion. Here is my progress so far:
Week 1:
I learnt the keys on a piano which
are A, B, C, D, E, F and G. To begin with, I tried to sing the popular show
tune from the musical film “Sound of Music” which is Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do. This
helped me in getting familiar with the pitch of the notes as well as the keys
on the piano. I located the middle of the piano which is Middle C (C4). From
there, I started playing to the right using bass and treble clef notes.
Week 2:
After learning I began to have a
go at playing the actual song. It was tough for me for me to play. I had to
play different chords such as Bm, Gm, Dm, F, etc. I decided only to play a part
of the song.
Week 3:
Then, I actually started to play the
song. It was not easy at first. I tried playing the chords (minor) but proved
to be difficult. Therefore, I decided to play half of the song.
